What we collect, why we have it, who else sees it, and how long we keep it.
Last updated: 26 August 2026
Conmigo is operated by High5ive LLC. This policy covers the Conmigo app and website at conmigo.chat, and every other service we operate under the same account system. It describes what actually happens in our systems — not what is typical of apps in general.
The short version. We collect what an account, a conversation and a marketplace need in order to work. We do not sell your information, we run no advertising networks, we use no analytics vendors, and we set no tracking cookies.
Two things are worth knowing up front, because they surprise people: every message you send is passed to a third-party AI service for automatic translation, and we keep most things indefinitely, including messages you delete. Both are explained in full below.
High5ive LLC is the controller of the information described here. For anything in this policy — questions, requests, complaints — write to privacy@conmigo.chat. A person reads that address.
A note on IP addresses, because most privacy policies are vague about this. Your IP address is used in transit to route your requests and to limit abuse. The address our system records against your device is an internal network address from inside our own infrastructure, not your public IP. In other words, we do not currently hold a record of the IP addresses our users connect from. If that changes, this policy will be updated before it does, not afterwards.
Selling on Conmigo requires identity verification. That check is performed by a specialist provider, and the document image and the selfie go to them, not to us. What comes back to us is the outcome of the check, your verified legal name, and the address printed on the document.
We do not receive, process or store facial recognition data, fingerprints, iris scans or any other biometric identifier. Where a face comparison happens, it happens inside the verification provider's own systems.
Card numbers and billing addresses are entered inside PayPal's own checkout and are never sent to us and never stored by us. What we keep is the record of the order: what was bought, from whom, for how much, when, and the reference numbers PayPal returns so a payment can be traced or refunded.
This section exists because the absence of something is as much a fact as its presence.
This is the section we would most want you to read.
Conmigo translates conversations automatically so that people who do not share a language can talk to each other. That is the point of the product. To do it, the text of your message is transmitted to a third-party AI service, which passes it to a language model. This happens for every message that contains text, including one-to-one messages, and including image captions.
There is currently no way to switch it off for an individual message, conversation or account. If you would not want a message processed this way, do not send it on Conmigo.
The same applies to our assistant features, to the automatic sorting of seller enquiries, and to a small number of other places where text is analysed to make something work.
What we require of those providers. Every request we send carries an explicit instruction that it may only be handled by providers who do not retain the content and do not use it to train models. We set that on every AI request our systems make.
We want to be precise about the limit of that promise: it governs which provider the routing service selects. It is not a guarantee about the routing service's own internal handling, and we do not control what an upstream provider does in breach of its own stated policy. We tell you what we ask for and what we have configured, because that is what we can honestly speak to.
We do not use your messages to train any model of our own, and we do not sell or license your content to anyone for that purpose.
We do not sell your personal information, and we have never sold it. We share it only with the services needed to operate Conmigo, and only the part each one needs.
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Our AI translation provider and the models it routes to | The text of messages, captions, and assistant conversations | Translation and assistant features (section 4) |
| Google Firebase | Push notification tokens and notification contents; crash diagnostics from mobile apps | Delivering notifications; diagnosing crashes |
| Our email provider | Your email address, and your name where it appears in the message | Password resets and service email |
| Our media host | Photos, video, voice notes, files and avatars | Storing and delivering media |
| Our identity verification provider | Your ID document and selfie, submitted directly to them | Verifying sellers |
| PayPal | Payment details, entered in their checkout | Taking payment |
| Fulfilment and shipping services | Buyer name and delivery address, for orders that use them | Printing and shipping goods |
| Our hosting provider | Everything, as the infrastructure it runs on | Running the service |
We will tell you the specific companies behind each of these on request — write to privacy@conmigo.chat. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to investigate abuse or fraud, or to protect someone's safety.
Plainly: we keep most information indefinitely. We would rather say so than imply a tidiness we do not practise.
You can close your account from within the app, or by writing to us.
What closing an account does today: it deactivates rather than erases. Your profile stops being reachable and you can no longer sign in. Your account record, and the messages you sent, are retained — including in conversations and groups where other people can still see the history you took part in.
We retain it because a conversation belongs to everyone in it: removing one person's messages would rewrite other people's records of what was said, and would remove evidence needed to act on reports. Orders are kept for the same reason your bank keeps a record of a payment.
If you want your information erased rather than deactivated, write to privacy@conmigo.chat and say so. We will tell you what we can remove, what we must keep, and why — rather than quietly doing half of it.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We extend them to everyone who asks, wherever they are, because operating two standards is worse than operating one.
We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We do not use it for automated decisions that produce legal effects. Decisions that restrict an account — suspensions and bans — are made by a person.
Write to privacy@conmigo.chat from the email address on your account. We will confirm it is you, and answer within 30 days. If your request is complex and needs longer, we will tell you before that deadline rather than after it.
We will not charge you, refuse you service, or treat you differently for exercising any of this.
Conmigo is for adults. You must be 18 or over to create an account, and we ask for your date of birth in order to check. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has an account, tell us at privacy@conmigo.chat and we will remove it.
Our servers are in the United States. Media is delivered from servers in several regions, including the United States and Europe, so that it loads quickly wherever you are. The providers listed in section 5 process information in their own locations, which may be outside your country.
If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, information about you may therefore be transferred outside it. Where that happens we rely on the standard contractual protections offered by those providers.
Traffic between your device and Conmigo is encrypted. Passwords are stored only as hashes, and so are password reset codes. Access to production systems is restricted.
No service can promise it will never be breached, and we are not going to. What we can tell you is that if a breach affects your information, we will tell you rather than hope you do not notice.
When we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Where a change materially affects your rights or how we use your information, we will tell you in the app rather than rely on you re-reading this page.
Questions about anything here, or a request about your own information: privacy@conmigo.chat.
